Bluefield, WV  ~ "Natures Air Conditioned City"

Located in the foothills of Southern West Virginia. Bluefield is named Natures Air Conditioned city. At an elevation of 3500 ft, Bluefield recieves mountain air that normally inhibits temperatures to reach above 90* during the summer. When this occurs the city serves free lemonaid. A 50 year old tradition still alive today. Below are pictures of Bluefield.

LOCAL DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM I-77

Quick Route:

Traveling North or South on I-77 take Exit 1 before or after East River Mountain Tunnel. At the end of ramp take a right onto US 52. Drive 2 miles towards Bluefield and merge left onto US 460 West. Drive 3 miles and look for Washington Street Exit. Take a right onto Washington St. Come to the red light and take a right onto Cumberland Rd. Take an immediate left onto Jefferson St. Passed a white picket fence. Drive down the hill and when it becomes flat, the house will be on the right at 2109 Jefferson St. A driveway is located beside the home which will take you to our side parking lot.
*CAUTION: In case of snow and bad weather conditions it is recommended that After your take a right onto Cumberland Rd, Drive to the next red light and turn left onto Bland Rd. Follow this road to the next Red Light at Little Caesars. Turn left on to College Ave. Look for Jefferson St. on the left at the Corner of College Ave Baptist Church. Go up the first hill and when it becomes flat the house will be up ahead on the left.

Scenic Route:

If traveling north on I-77 take Exit 66 before East River Mountain Tunnel. Turn left at the end of ramp onto US 52. The road will take you overtop of the mountain to East River Mountain Overlook. Once you go overtop the mountain and come down the other side, you will connect to U.S. 460 East. Take a right and .25m ahead will be Washington Street Exit on the left. When you get to the red light turn right onto Cumberland Rd. Make an immediate left passed a white picket fence onto Jefferson St. Drive down the hill. When the hill becomes flat again, the house will be on the right at 2109 Jefferson St. A drive way is located beside the home which will take you to our parking lot.
*CAUTION! DO NOT use this route during winter weather and snow conditions. It will be extremely dangerous!

PLEASE NOTE:  Do not use MapQuest (tm) for directions to the Dian-Lee House.  The directions are inaccurate. If using GPS please make sure you enter the correct state (WV) as Bluefield is a twin city. Ignore taking Exit 9 unless stopping for a meal.
